>The One World Festival presents over 200 workshops and lectures throughout the week, with separate activity programmes for teens and children of all age groups. All our teachers are dedicated and experienced in a range of therapies, natural movement and dance forms, exercise for physical and spiritual development, holistic health, arts, crafts and sports, as well as in specialist areas such as Natural Cookery. One World's aim is to promote holistic well-being and general soundness of body, mind and Environment through a balanced and healthy approach to living. You are very welcome to apply to join our fabulous team of friendly staff. Being part of the full-time staff team is a great way to make new friends and invariably a rewarding experience. Areas of work include kitchen, children, site work, secretarial and others. You will still have time to socialise and participate in some of the workshops.

We need self motivated student reps to help organise venues, create interest and generate awareness of talks and presentations at universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. >Eluna 100% recycled glass products are designed and made by Green Bottle Unit (GBU) LLP, based in the award winning Hothouse, Hackney, London E8. GBU was set up by Free Form Arts Trust and is a social enterprise that aims to meet the demands of architects, interior designers and landscapers seeking high quality versatile building products that also contribute to environmentally sustainable objectives. We are a small team (3 people in the production unit and 2 people in the office) and are seeking volunteers to assist us with updating and maintaining our administration. Tasks would include database management, assisting in marketing projects and general administrative duties. The role can be 1, 2 or 3 days a week.

>Green Thing is an award-winning environmental charity which, with the help of brilliant videos and inspiring stories from creative people and community members around the world, focuses on using creativity vs. climate change. In other words we use creativity to reframe sustainable living as smart, sexy, fashionable and fun. We aim to change sustainable living from something we ‘ought’ to do, to something we ‘want’ to do. Green Thing specialises in video content and regularly gets the best creative talent to contribute. We are also inviting volunteers to come and join us! Community Liaison Volunteer
Transition Town Tooting is a voluntary and community approach to the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change. Tooting is part of a broader transition network of hundreds of transition towns, springing up around the world to imagine a positive vision of a low carbon future. The Tooting Trashcatchers’ Carnival is a TippingPoint Commission with support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change produced by Transition Town Tooting led by artists Project Phakama and Emergency Exit Arts.You will be the liaison person and main point of contact for all the various community groups in Tooting who are involved in the Trashcatchers Carnival in July 2010. This is a key role and requires an individual who is well organised, diplomatic and has great communication and interpersonal skills. Duties: - Communicate information about the carnival to the various community groups throughout Tooting and the wider London Borough of Wandsworth. With help from the artists from Project Phakama and Emergency Exit Arts, aid community groups develop their floats and costumes. Help co-ordinate their role on the big day. The role will be 2 days a week to July 2010 and home-based.

Carnival Fundraising Volunteer
Transition Town Tooting is a voluntary and community approach to the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change. Tooting is part of a broader transition network of hundreds of transition towns, springing up around the world to imagine a positive vision of a low carbon future. The Tooting Trashcatchers’ Carnival is a TippingPoint Commission with support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change produced by Transition Town Tooting led by artists Project Phakama and Emergency Exit Arts. You will be building relationships with key funders, filling in application forms for funds from local, regional and national grant giving bodies as well as taking part in events. You would learn a lot about public/private sector fast-changing policies and commitment to sustainability issues and the role of active community engagement around you. If you are interested in gaining some experience in fund-raising and have the tenacity, initiative, creative thinking and motivation to deal with funding applications, we'd love to hear from you. The role will be 2 days a week to July 2010 and home-based.

Carnival Press and Publicity Officer
Transition Town Tooting is a voluntary and community approach to the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change. Tooting is part of a broader transition network of hundreds of transition towns, springing up around the world to imagine a positive vision of a low carbon future. The Tooting Trashcatchers’ Carnival is a TippingPoint Commission with support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change produced by Transition Town Tooting led by artists Project Phakama and Emergency Exit Arts. You will be raising awareness for the carnival to be held in July 2010. Duties: - To produce news, features, reviews and commentary that informs, engages and excites the local community, the press and national media. You will play a key role in raising awareness for this event locally and nationally and be the main point of contact for all press and media relations prior to the event and after. We are ideally looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role. A network of contacts with either local or national press would be highly desirable. This role would suit someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly, making environmental issues relevant and accessible. This is an ideal starting point for someone wishing to build on their writing/PR portfolio. An interest in tackling the effects of climate change at a local level is important. The role will be 2 days a week to July 2010 and home-based.
